The birthplace of Aristoteles

Halkidiki is the birthplace of the great philosopher Aristotle, tutor of Alexander the Great. He was born in 384 BC in the ancient city of Stagira located in north-east Halkidiki. Ruins of the ancient city can still be seen today near Olympiada.
